Kim Orendor: Book your sports weekends now

365体育投注It’s not an exaggeration to say that 90 percent of what I read is fiction. Hand me a tome set in Europe during World War II, and I’ll devour it in days. But what about that 10-percent reserve of nonfiction? Well, it’s home to biographies and memoirs of men and women I admire, and the […]

Kim Orendor: Life in the time of H1N1

Sias International University is in one of the more densely populated and poorer provinces. It is built […]

Kim Orendor: Thankful for changing traditions

When I think of Thanksgiving, several things come to mind: turkey, football, family. As a young adult, I’d watch football with my family, play two-hand touch/tackle football with my cousins at halftime and then stuff myself with all the trimmings at dinner — followed by a few more pigskin tosses to work off the calories […]

Kim Orendor: Daydreaming of fairs, rodeos and Aussies

While the “sports editor” title is cool, some days I sit in my cushioned chair in our air-conditioned office and ponder the good ol’ days out in the field. The triple-digit heat and Yolo County Fair provided a one-two punch that sent me daydreaming to my early staff-writer days at The Davis Enterprise. (Insert dreamy […]
