‘COVID-19 Community Report’ continues on KDRT

365体育投注The “COVID-19 Community Report” airs live at noon Tuesdays and Fridays on KDRT 95.7FM, the low-power community radio station operated by community media nonprofit Davis Media Access. For those outside KDRT’s limited service area, a live stream is available at , where show episodes and blogs can also be found.

Autumn Labbé-Renault, executive director of DMA, hosts. She said the half-hour show focuses on local voices, perspectives, and ways to help or receive help. The show launched March 17 and guests to date have featured Davis City Councilmember Lucas Frerichs, Davis Joint Unified School District Superintendent John Bowes, community organizer Kate Mellon-Anibaba, Davis Poet Laureate James Lee Jobe, and Elizabeth Gray and Lana Harmon of the Yolo County Library.

365体育投注A former newspaper journalist, Labbé-Renault has worked in non-profit community media for more than 20 years, serving DMA as its executive director since 2007. With many of DMA’s projects temporarily shelved, she and staff have been retooling behind the scenes. KDRT provided the most readily accessible medium, and one that Labbé-Renault could manage by herself. The DMA facility on Fifth Street is closed to everyone else.

DMA also runs public access channel DCTV, Channel 15 on the Comcast system and Menu 99 on AT&T U-verse, and DJUSD educational access Channel 17. All are programmed and airing content during the closure.

Upcoming guests include:

365体育投注* Tuesday, March 31: Heidy Kellison, Downtownnorcal business blog and Jessica Hubbard, executive director of Yolo Community Foundation; and

* Friday, April 3: Congressman John Garamendi.

365体育投注Labbé-Renault said she’ll continue the show for the foreseeable future, and will be working to include voices and perspectives from nearby communities as the weeks progress.
