Letter: Priorities

365体育投注COVID-19 fills our screens and our lives with daily tragedies. We see and read about collapsed hospitals, broke and hungry families, and lives lost. Many of us spend too much time reading graphs of death rates and learning about the life-and-death cycles of viruses.

365体育投注But if the letters to the editor are any indication, we should all be worried about one particular repercussion: possible changes to the GPAs of Davis High School students. Oh, the horrors. Who cares about death, disease and disinformation when a 17-year-old might have a slightly harder time getting into the college of their choice?

I propose a candlelight vigil to honor these poor souls (and their parents; I doubt the students care). Perhaps some donations that are now going to feed the hungry or aid health-care workers should go to subsidize college coaches for our overachievers.
